- The club shall be called Poole Camera Club, and membership shall be open
to all interested in photography.
- Membership of the club implies the undertaking to comply with and abide
by these rules.
- An Annual General Meeting shall be held in May each year. This meeting
shall: elect the officers for the forthcoming year; hear reports from the
President and Chairman; consider the Statement of Accounts and Balance
Sheet; fix the annual subscription; consider any other business at the
Chairman's discretion.
- Subscription year - 1st April to 31st March. New members joining after
1st January pay one-half of the annual subscription. Existing members and
those joining after 31st March to pay full years subscription not later than
1st October of that year.
- The officers shall consist of a President and Vice President(s) who
shall be ex-officio members of the committee, a Chairman, Vice-Chairman,
Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Programme Secretary, Assistant
Programme Secretary and a Competition Secretary.
- The affairs of the club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of
the officers and up to four members, all to be elected annually. The
Committee shall be empowered to co-opt additional Officers and members to
the Committee.
- All Officers and Committee members are eligible for re-election each
year.
- At Committee Meetings, 5 (five) shall form a quorum and at General
Meetings 20 (twenty).
- Special meetings may be convened by the committee; or on a resolution
signed by at least 10 ordinary members, stating the object and sent to the
Secretary. Such a meeting to be held as soon as possible, subject to 14 days
notice being given to all members.
- The Secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings and conduct the
correspondence of the Club. The Treasurer shall collect all subscriptions
and pay all monies due, after authorisation by the Committee. At the close
of each Club Year a Statement of Accounts and a Balance Sheet shall be drawn
up by the Treasurer and examined by two members appointed for this purpose
by the Annual General Meeting.
- A member may be expelled or asked to resign from the Club at the
decision of the Committee. The Committee can request a member to appear
before it, provided that where any accusation or charge is made, the member
shall be given full and reasonable opportunity to put forward a defence and
bring witnesses at a later meeting. Any member expelled or asked to resign
shall have the right of appeal to a Special General Meeting called for the
purpose.
All committee proceedings and those of any Special General
Meeting called under this rule shall be treated as privileged and
confidential
- The committee may confer Honorary Membership of the club at it's
discretion.
- The name of any member whose subscription is more than three months in
arrears may be removed from the list by order of the Committee.
- A member not in arrears of subscription may resign at any time, by
notifying the Secretary of his/her desire to do so.
- No alteration of, or addition to, these rules shall be made except by
the Annual General Meeting or a Special Meeting called in accordance with
rule 9.
- If the committee, by a simple majority, decide at any time that it is
necessary or advisable to dissolve the club, it shall put the facts to a
Special or Annual General Meeting. If a resolution to dissolve the club is
confirmed by a two-thirds majority of the members attending, the committee
shall act as follows. Consider amalgamation with another local club having
similar aims and objectives. Recall all property belonging to the club.
Satisfy the clubs proper debts and liabilities. Dispose of the funds and
property of the club as follows:
16i. General Funds. In the event of an agreed amalgamation,
the equipment and the balance of the general funds to be passed to the new
club. Otherwise the equipment to be disposed of and the total balance of
funds to be treated as in 16ii and 16iii.
16ii. Ursula Ogle/Michael Bark Account. The remaining balance
to be divided equally between St Dunstans and the Disabled Photographers
Association.
16iii. Equipment Fund. This fund also to be divided equally
between St Dunstans and the Disabled Photographers Association.
